Concrete
Form Resins
Insulating concrete forms (ICFs) are revolutionizing the building
industry. A new type of concrete forming system, concrete forms offer owners
and builders greater energy efficiently and better living. At Nexcycle
Plastics, we sell recycled polypropylene processed from post industrial scrap
for making insulating concrete forms, forming systems and formworks.
As a plastic recycler, we recycle plastic scrap for a variety of
products made using the extrusion or injection molding processes, i.e.,
concrete forms. Our recycled polypropylene - NPI – 10PP212 Mixed
Color, is fast becoming the most popular material for concrete
forms. As a leading manufacturer of recycled polypropylene, we have a
substantial supply of polypropylene and are well placed to offer ICF
manufacturers the lowest cost alternative to virgin polypropylene.
What are Concrete Forms?
Concrete forms are a concrete forming system for designing energy efficient
buildings.
Advantages
of Concrete Forms?
Concrete forming systems are quickly replacing more traditional building
methods for several reasons. For home owners, they reduce (if not eliminate)
air leakage, energy loss, they absorb sound and can last a very long time.
For home builders, they are very versatile, easy to install, easy to learn,
and cost competitive.
Polypropylene Resins for Making Concrete Forms
Part of our plastic recycling service involves helping you to choose the
right resin for making concrete forms. The main property of our recycled
polypropylene is its melt index flow. This value defines the ability of
polypropylene to flow. Generally, the higher the melt index the easier the
material will flow. At the same time, however, a higher or lower melt index
has a direct influence on the properties of the plastic material itself.
Although it means a lower flow rate, the lower the melt index is, the
stiffer, stronger, harder and tougher the concrete form will be. The
properties of our polypropylene is listed below:

Concrete Form Applications
Concrete forms can be used for any structure built using concrete. They
can be used build foundations and walls, and offer builders much greater
flexibility than traditional forming systems. Concrete forms will accept any
traditional exterior finish including vinyl or wood siding, stucco and brick.
Custom angles and curves are easy to make while bows, bays and radiuses are a
cinch. Concrete forms are also great for making taller walls, large openings,
long floor spans and cathedral ceilings.
