As a plastic recycler, we recover post industrial materials for a variety of plastic sheeting products made using the extrusion or injection molding processes. Our resins, NPI – 04HDPE Mixed Color and NPI – 01LL/LD Mixed Color are all manufactured from recycled plastic and are ideally suited for making mattress covers. If you make mattress covers and looking for a viable alternative to virgin resin, we carry a well stocked supply of recycled plastic resin and are well located to offer you the lowest cost performance solutions available.

What are Mattress Covers?
Mattress covers are a clear thin plastic bag or sheet that protects mattresses and box springs from dirt and moisture during shipping or storage. They are usually delivered in several thickness and sizes, covering twin, full, queen and king sized mattresses. Some covers feature a low slip surface that prevents stacked mattresses from sliding. Others come with vent holes that allow air to escape for ease in stacking. The standard thickness of a mattress cover ranges from 0.0015 mm to .004 mm.

Benefits and Properties of Mattress Covers
The benefits of mattress covers over other packaging materials are considerable. As a kind of packaging material, mattress covers performs several functions:

1. They protect mattresses and bed springs from dirt and moisture
2. They allow for easy stacking of mattresses conserving storage space.
3. They protect the mattress from damage during transit.

Choosing the Right Resin for Mattress Covers
Selecting the right resin for making mattress covers is twofold: understanding the most important properties of the resin and how these properties can influence the molding or extrusion process and the quality of the mattress covers.. The most important property of our polyethylene determines how suited it is for the molding or extrusion process. The melt index describes the flow behavior that can be expected during processing. If you're looking for resin to use in blow molding, film extrusion, pipe and profile extrusion processes, the lower the melt index, the greater the melt strength will be. If you're looking for resins for your injection molding process, a higher melt index will mean a faster melt flow which helps to fill the mold cavities in shorter period of time.
