plastic recyclersPlastic Recyclers

As plastic recyclers we are experts in recovering post consumer and post industrial plastic material for reuse. For over 20 years we have been activity engaged in the process of purchasing post industrial and post consumer plastic and converting those materials into something useful. We will provide any and all equipment that is necessary for the collection and recycling of plastic scrap. We have countless balers, grinders and drop trailers at many of our suppliers across the country. We handle all the logistics involved in the pick up and handling of your plastic scrap. We offer immediate payment on all the scrap we purchase. We specialize in low end, contaminated and hard to handle materials. And we can help you solve all your plastic recycling needs.

Plastic Recyclers and What They Do
Theoretically, polymers or thermoplastic resins are by nature capable of being recycled. However, while theory is one thing, practice is an entirely different matter. A plastic recycler is someone constantly engaged in the process of collecting two kinds of material: post-consumer materials that have been consumed or used and post-industrial materials, waste or scrap discarded during the production of plastic products. Once they're collected, the next step is to turn these waste products into suitable materials for making new products. However, there are several requirements that may limit, on a run by run basis, a plastic recycler's ability to successfully make recycled plastic resin:

1. Contaminant Free: in general, for recycled plastics to be useful for new or identical applications, they need to be free of contaminants such as dirt, moisture, and other solvents such as water, gasoline, oil, glycol). We, for instance, will buy post consumer polyolefin scrap only if it is free of contamination like paper labels, dirt, organic matters, moisture and other polymer contaminants.
2. Low Cost of Separating and Cleaning: For recycled plastics to be useful for making new products, the cost of separating and cleaning each polymer has to be cheaper than purchasing new virgin plastic.
3. Color: : In order to color our plastics we must find clear, 'natural', or lightly colored recycled polypropylene - natural implies that they were not colored for their first use. Natural recycled plastics can then be colored any color that the secondary user desires. White or lightly colored plastics may also be colored different colors.
4. Appropriate First Use: Before purchasing post consumer materials, we have to know what it was used for in the first place. We work with all of our suppliers to make sure that we understand the first application of each material source. While we don't rely on a strictly 'controlled collection' mechanism, we do determine if the use was post-consumer or pre-consumer, and whether the use was appropriate for our application, i.e. that they are from a benign source.

The Recycling Process
Once we receive the materials from a supplier, its conversion into reusable material involves several steps commonly performed by most plastic recyclers.

1. Grinding: we break apart the material, sort it if necessary, and then grind it down into useable regrind for more processing. We can also densify those materials to difficult to grind using conventional grinders/shredders.
2. Clean and Wash: we wash down the regrind or flakes to clean it and remove all foreign metal contaminants and other things from dirt, to pieces of label, foil, water and glue.
3. Blending: we blend the regrind into uniformed consistency using state of the art silo blending techniques.
4. Pelletizing: when required, the cleaned and newly blended flakes are passed through an extrusion and pelletization process that turns the regrind back into reusable pellets.

We have two locations where we grind and process materials in Red Deer, Alberta and Brampton, Ontario. We welcome all offers. Here are some of the items we purchase and recycle:

1. Plastics: HDPE, LLDPE, LDPE, MDPE, PVC, PP, PS, PVDF, PBT, PET, PVB, ABS and NYLON.
2. Forms: Loose, Baled, Rolls, Regrind, Repro, Purging, Drools, Chunks, Virgin, Film, Lumps, Purges, and Powders.
3. Types: Computer Housings, Films, Milk Jugs, Detergent Bottles, Signs, Camel Back, Stretch Film, Mattress Bags, Non Wovens, Diaper Scrap, Woven Bags, Coextruded films, Adhesive films, Evoh, Pet Soda Bottles, PET Preforms, Polycarb Water Bottles, Polycarb Cd's, Nursery Film, HIPS/Saran, HIPS/Foil
