plastic sheetPlastic Sheet

Nexcycle Plastics recycles post industrial scrap for making plastic sheet or sheeting. As a plastic recycler, we recycle plastic scrap for a variety of products made using the extrusion or injection molding processes, i.e., plastic sheet. All our products, NPI – 04HDPE Mixed Color, NPI – 01LL/LD Mixed Color and NPI – 10PP212 Mixed Color are made from recycled plastic and are appropriate for making plastic sheet. As a leading plastic recycler and compounder, we have a substantial supply of recycled plastic and are well placed to offer you the lowest cost alternative to virgin resins.

What is Plastic Sheet?
Plastic sheet is a relatively thick piece of thermoplastic resin that is typically much longer than it is wider and as thick as 10 mils (1 mil = 0.001 inch) or more (up to 30 mils thick). As a part of the much larger packaging family called flexible packaging, plastic sheet represents a substantial portion of all plastic packaging which can be used as a bag, covering or wrap. This includes everything from grocery bags to garbage bags, dry cleaning garment bags, plastic or stretch wrap, greenhouses, crop protection and other agricultural applications. Most plastic sheet is made from low-density polyethylene (LDPE), linear LDPE or high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Most bags, sacks and shrink wrap are made from low-density polyethylene (LDPE), linear LDPE or high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) also are used.

Resin Properties
Some of the main properties of our recycled plastic as a plastic sheeting material include its melt index, density and izod impact properties. They are key indicators of what the melt strength and flow will be for processing. If you're looking for low cost resins to use in blow molding, sheet extrusion, pipe and profile extrusion processes, the lower the melt index, the greater the melt strength will be. If you're looking for resins for your injection molding process, a higher melt index will mean a faster melt flow which helps to fill the mold cavities in shorter period of time. Applications
The appeal of our products is partly due to their unique properties. Relatively rigid, with excellent chemical resistance to solvents, and a higher tensile strength than other forms of polyethylene, our 04HDPE Mixed Color resin can be used to make bottles for non-foods, pipe, film and plastic sheeting. Our 01LL/LD Mixed Color resin is tough, flexible, chemically resistant to acids, bases and vegetable oils, and transparent which make it ideal for making film and plastic sheeting. All these properties make it good for making packaging with heat sealing capabilities. Our polypropylene (10PP212 Mixed Color) has excellent optical clarity, low moisture vapor transmission and is chemically inert to most acids, alkalis and solvents. This makes ideal for most automobile applications from battery cases to signal lights, as well as for plastic sheeting. All our products, however, excel as a material for making plastic sheeting which can be used for making all sorts of products from packaging to sheeting for crop protection (such as agricultural plastic sheeting) and protecting buildings and equipment on a construction site.
