Poly
Pipe Resins
Want to convert your pipe extrusion process to recycled polyethylene? As a
plastic recycler, we collect plastic scrap and convert it into usable resins
for making poly pipe. We recycle polyethylene for a variety of
products made using the pipe extrusion process, i.e., poly pipe, pe pipe or
hdpe pipe. Our high density polyethylene resin: NPI
– 04HDPE Mixed Color is reclaimed from post industrial
polyethylene and is a popular alternative to virgin resins. As a leading
polyethylene recycler and compounder, we offer a reliable supply of
polyethylene and are prepared to help you convert your extrusion process to
recycled polyethylene.
What is Poly Pipe?
As a part of the much larger plastic pipe family, our polyethylene is one of
the most widely used polymers for making poly pipe. Defined as a mechanism
for transporting materials from one loation to another, poly pipe comes in
sizes ranging from 3/4" to 18" or more and is used for transporting
everything from water and sewage to steam, air and gas. Poly pipe is used to
build large systems of pipe for municipal water supply and for sewage
disposal, irrigation and drainage systems for the agriculture industry and
for transporting chemicals and other corrosive materials. As an alternative
to other plastic piping materials, poly pipe has revolutionized the
agriculture, irrigation and waste water industries. Available as a corrugated
or smooth pipe in varying degrees of thicknesses and properties, poly pipe
could be the answer you're looking for.
Benefits and Properties of Poly Pipe
The key properties of our recycled polyethylene as a piping material include
its flexibility, lightweight, chemically resistance, toughness, impact
resistance and durability. While other plastic pipes share some of these same
properties, high density polyethylene stands out in so far as it combines so
many attractive properties into a single product. Combining lightweight
flexibility with durable toughness, poly pipe offers many advantages that
other piping material cannot. Chosen for one important reason above all
others, poly pipe is extremely easy to handle and install. These features
make poly pipe a perfect fit for those applications where accessibility is
restricted and conditions are extremely harsh. The preferred pipe of choice
for most trenchless technologies like pipe bursting and horizontal direction
drilling, poly pipe can be joined together by heat fusion welding, making it
the perfect choice for handling hazardous waste materials.
Resin Properties
Key properties of our recycled polyethylene as a plastic piping material
include its melt index and density. They are key indicators of what the melt
strength and flow will be for processing. If you're looking for resin to use
in pipe extrusion processes, the lower the melt index, the greater
the melt strength will be. If you're looking for resins for your
injection molding process, a higher melt index will mean a faster melt flow
which helps to fill the mold cavities in shorter period of time. The

Applications
Part of polyethylene's appeal as a plastic pipe is due to its unique
combination of properties and the many forms which it can be produced as a
resin. It can be produced in granules, powders, pipe, rod, tube and sheet
form and molded through a variety of processes from injection molding to
extrusion. It excels as a material for pipe that will be used in
environmentally sensitive areas and hard to reach locations. Capable of
operating under great pressures and in very corrosive environments, poly pipe
is used in a variety of ways ranging from watermains to landfill collection
systems, drainage and irrigation systems, and in highway construction
projects.
