Resins For Making Poly Sheeting
Searching for quality reprocessed resins for making poly sheeting?
We buy post industrial scrap, recycle it and sell it for making poly sheeting. As a plastic recycler, we recover post industrial materials
for a variety of plastic sheeting products made using the extrusion or injection
molding processes, i.e., poly sheeting. Our linear low density polyethylene: NPI – 01LL/LD Mixed
Color
is recovered from recycled plastic and is ideally
suited for making poly sheeting. If you make poly sheeting and are looking for a quality alternative to virgin resin, we carry a well
stocked supply of linear low density polyethylene and are perfectly situated to offer you the lowest cost performance solutions available.
What is Poly Sheeting?
Also called construction sheeting or plastic sheeting, poly sheeting is a thin sheet of clear, black or white polyethylene plastic ranging in thickness from 2 to 6 mils thick (1 mil = 0.001 inch). Poly sheeting is best made with linear low density polyethylene for exceptional tensile strength and tear resistance. Delivered in rolls that are folded for easy storage and use, poly sheeting is ideal for a wide variety of industrial and commercial applications. Water and rot proof, and resistant to many chemicals, poly sheeting can be used as a tarp for covering work areas and materials, as covers for pallets or as liners for large containers of food products. As a kind of packaging material, poly sheeting performs several functions. It can also be used for:
- Covering warehouse equipment, machinery, construction materials, pallets or skids.
- Covering large construction components like lumber, walls and scaffolding.
- For concealing products or equipment (black poly sheeting).
- Curing concrete.
- Covering masonry and landscaping projects.
Benefits and Properties of Poly Sheeting
The benefits of poly sheeting made using linear low density polyethylene are well known. Poly sheeting is a quick and easy way to provide protection against water damage, dust and dirt. It is an excellent choice for packaging products of varying lengths and is perfect for odd shaped or overly large objects. Compared to other forms of sheeting materials, linear low density polyethylene is more flexible, stronger, more durable, lightweight and cheaper that other forms of sheeting. It is usually delivered in cored rolls, folded for convenient storage and ease of use. It is available in black and can be individually wrapped against dust and other contamination while in storage. It can come in a variety of formats from sheeting to u-films, j-films, in different gauges, colors and roll sizes, with special additives, uv inhibitors, anti-oxidants or can be layflat or gusseted according to customer specifications.
Choosing the Right Resin for Poly Sheeting
Selecting the right resin for making poly sheeting, involves understanding the most important properties of the resin and how they are suited for a molding process and the quality of the poly sheeting. The most important
property of our polyethylene concerns how suited the resin is
for the molding process. The melt index describes the flow behavior that can be expected
during processing. If you're looking for resin to use in blow molding,
film extrusion, pipe and profile extrusion processes, the lower the melt
index, the greater the melt strength will be. If you're looking for resins
for your injection molding process, a higher melt index will mean a faster
melt flow which helps to fill the mold cavities in shorter period of time.
